Unlucky or what?????
Hi guys,
i'm so tired..... Ok now i explain: started a monk to obtain legendary survivor: reached 584000 exp points then died for an oni pop ups....and since here ok, can happen! Started last week an ele for the same motive: reached 583189 and then conn. lost during a quest....closed immediately GW, restabilished the connection with my router, opened gw and ualà my char died so... Now i'm at work so cannot post screen (i'll post this evening)....all my time lost for a........of anet Do not want to comment but think ANET must consider these problems as their customers are very very angry I know that is not only my problem cause have seen other peoples with the same problem...................... What they MEAN to say is...
This is actually very common. Bad luck can easily chase you down and kill your character after you put in lots of hard work. Disconnects themselves are also very common, but you must keep in mind it is not always Anet's fault. Often, connections are lost because your ISP (internet service provider) may have last the connection at their end. Sometimes it may be Anet, but this usually entails a whole server going down, and you would her a wide spread and simultaneous drops... Anyway, sorry to hear that you keep getting bad luck while going for the title. I cannot tell you why or how... but if you really determined, perseverence is key! Just take the next one much slower, and make sure that you keep an eye on your ISP's reliability (multiple drops will point to bad ISP)... GL!! Cheers! EDIT:: Oh ya, and the fact that you didnt ask an actual question in a Question & Answer forum is waht made them wonder .... hehe Last edited by Batou of Nine; Apr 10, 2007 at 07:57 AM // 07:57.. |

To answer your 'question' ^^ : Yes, the disconnect is unlucky. I guess connection problems are even more dangerous now than they were before reconnect functionality was added. But, your first death was not due to bad luck. You should have known that Oni's spawn at certain spots in Cantha... plan accordingly!

"Death by Oni" isn't anything to complain about. I'm sure you've run across a few of them already with all that XP. And if you've never been in that area, then being on guard against things like that is very important for survival.
"Death by disconnect" is a scary proposition. I'm working on survivor title with a character and I'm always a bit on edge when playing that character. There have been a couple of instances where I've been just starting a battle when an automatic update to my firewall/security systems begins downloading - Eeeek! All I do then is spam my self heal and hope that my hero/henchie crew can pull my through. (So far, so good!) I'm just glad I don't suffer complete D/Cs very often. |

I'm glad the survivor title wasn't available at the launch of Guild Wars. No need for my primary character to worry about dying or not, just enjoying the game

Umm, if you just hit Alt-F4 it doesn't log you out, so you probably died because you were still in game standing still. Use F12 or zone yourself to your Guild Hall.
Seriously though, there's no point whining on Guru about how you stuffed up and ended up dead. Survivor is a challenge, if you're frustrated about losing that challenge, that's life. |

They should remove the survivor title: no more whining.

maybe work out the safest way to get out of near death situations i.e. zoning to gh as it appears alt f4 does not prevent getting deaths.

Either that or just hit F12 - Enter. Fast and you shouldn't get any deaths.

Then they should just remove everything in the game.
It would stop people from whining about anything. gg |
